About Us
Founded by two mushroom-obsessed, ADHD halfwits who spent roughly a decade “starting a business” before actually… starting a business, the Mushroom Future idea grew slowly (you know, like a hidden mycelium network under the forest floor) until one of us realised they’d spent an unreasonable amount of money on mushroom-themed clothing that was either poor quality, boring, or both.
Our shared fascination runs deep. We’ve (tried) to grow mushrooms, we’ve (tried to) forage for them, and we geek out over the science. Mushrooms aren’t plants. They’re not animals. They’re their own phylum, and they might just save the planet. From eating oil spills, plastics and radioactive waste, to providing meat and leather substitutes, to being the “brains” inside robots… fungi are spectacular.
We wanted to channel that magic into clothing that celebrates the weird, wonderful and wild, all without contributing to the landfill problem. That means slow fashion: high-quality, long-lasting garments you’ll still be wearing years from now. Our first collection features stunning embroidered designs based on the scientific illustrations of renowned mycologist Geoffrey Kibby, but this is just the beginning. Expect plenty more curious caps, beautiful boletes and mysterious mycelia to follow.
Whether you’re a seasoned forager, a nature lover, or just someone who likes their wardrobe a little more… spore-tee, you’re in the right place. This is clothing for people who want to feel seen in their passions, and look great while doing it.
From our hands to your wardrobe: here’s to fungi, forever.
Oh, yeah, by the way - we did all the proper business-y stuff. We're a proper registered company with a proper company number: 16670927
